In my mind the journey to becoming a teacher was all about understanding and knowing how to work with learners in the best way possible so that their learning experience will be that much more enriched. Why would I need digital pedagogy in any case if it doesn't appear to be helping me with my passion and driving force which would be to 'make a difference in a child's life'.
In hindsight, digital pedagogy is about more than just the shallow thoughts I was having as times are changing rapidly and classrooms and schools in general are embracing the digital-ness more and more which emphasises the fact that the future of education is most definitely digital. Another way of seeing it would be the opportunity to educate learners regarding the safety around social media as it is one of the realest factors in general.
Having said that, on the other hand, technology often has a habit of ceasing to exist at times. It is so very important for educators to strip all the 'garments' of technology away and become 'naked' in teaching..basically having a solid foundation of the 'basics'.
They say that if you don't get with it, you get left behind..
And so this is my attempt at not getting with it.
This is my blog.
Keep on keeping up with KimmyCool (while she somehow tries to keep up with her self).
